Zeeland Refinery - Industrial Scaffolding

Zeeland is one of the most energy-efficient refineries in the world

Scope

Zeeland Refinery had the ambition to reduce CO2 emissions by 10 percent by 2014 compared to 2008. One of the initiatives to realize this was the Low Low Pressure Steam project (LLPS).

Challenge

We delivered scaffolding and insulation in six phases. We isolated two new exchangers and the new pipework with a length of 585 m.

Performance

A total of 15,000 m3 of CUPLOK® system scaffolding was used for the phases from the various pumps up to the cooker, and for the 6th and final stage for the disassembly of the 210 m long old pipe.

To make the workplaces accessible, various complexes were made in all phases as construction developed. For example, suspended scaffolding, extension scaffolding and bridging scaffolding.

In addition, during the stop of the hydrocracker scaffolding was built for the connection of existing to new pipes. The excellent cooperation between Zeeland Refinery, the site team and our project team ensured the project proceeded safely and was delivered on time.
